About Text Formatter

Text Formatter (text-formatter.com) is a free collection of online text tools: a full-featured text formatter, Unicode font generators for every major social platform, and a set of small developer utilities. Everything runs directly in your browser — no sign-up, no installation, and no text ever uploaded to a server.

What We Build

  • The text formatter — case conversion, line manipulation, whitespace cleanup, duplicate removal, and a Monaco-based editor with 50 steps of undo history.
  • Font generators — copy-and-paste Unicode styles for Facebook, LinkedIn, Discord, Instagram, WhatsApp, X, TikTok and Reddit, with honest guidance on where styled text works, where it breaks, and what it costs you in searchability and accessibility.
  • Developer utilities — JSON formatter, Base64 and URL encoders, HTML tag remover, and text statistics.

Why We Built It

Like most people who work with text all day, we kept bouncing between half-broken tools: one site to fix capitalization, another to dedupe a list, a third — plastered with pop-ups — to make text bold for LinkedIn. We wanted one fast, clean place that did all of it and didn't ask for our data to do so. Text Formatter is that place, and we use it ourselves daily.

Our Principles

  • Local-first processing. Your text is processed by JavaScript on your device. It is never transmitted, logged, or stored by us — you can verify this in your browser's network tab.
  • Free to use. Every tool on the site is free, with no feature gates or trial limits.
  • Honest documentation. Our guides tell you when not to use a tool — for example, why styled Unicode hurts LinkedIn search matching, or why real bold belongs in Word documents.
  • No dark patterns. No forced sign-ups, no fake download buttons, no interstitials between you and your formatted text.

Who We Are

Text Formatter is built and maintained by an independent developer who has been shipping web tools since the early 2010s. The site has no outside investors and no data-selling business model — it is supported by unobtrusive advertising, which keeps the tools free for everyone.
